Royalton CHIC Cancún

More Than Party Photos: Every Session Royalton CHIC Guests Book, Free to Reserve

Girls’ trips are what we photograph most for this hotel — six friends who locked the dates a year ago and the outfits last week. Bachelorette weeks, sash and all. Birthdays that turn thirty, forty or sixty and refused to be marked at home. Couples portraits for two people with four hundred phone photos and not one worth printing. Anniversaries — the fifth, the twentieth, the thirty-fifth. Surprise proposals planned in whispers over weeks of messages. Honeymoons that began somewhere much colder. Babymoon and maternity frames, at whatever pace the morning allows. Grown siblings and adult children travelling with their parents, in one frame for once. Solo portraits, for the friend who spent the whole week photographing everyone else. Easy lifestyle scenes over coffee. And private yacht sessions, when the celebration moves onto the water.

Mornings here start late, and that is no accident: Royalton CHIC is eighteen-and-over, built around a rooftop, a DJ booth and evenings that run long, so the group is rarely camera-ready before the afternoon. Knowing that is half the job of a Royalton Chic Cancun photographer — we suggest the hour that suits a crowd who went out, not the one a brochure would pick. After thousands of sessions across Cancun the date, the hour and who has to be in which frame are all settled over WhatsApp before you land, and holding the session costs you nothing. Every price, from a single photo to a full package, is on our Cancun photographer page. Message us with your dates and what the trip is celebrating, and we will tell you the best hour to photograph a group that plans to be out late.

Three Shoots We Photograph Every Week Around Punta Cancún

Group & reunion sessions

Friends who finally coordinated calendars, families spread across three cities, travel crews of eight, ten, fifteen. We direct group photoshoots so nobody hides in the back row: full-group frames first, then quick rotations — couples, siblings, the inevitable chaotic one — before anyone loses steam.

Birthday shoots

A birthday photoshoot in Cancun works beautifully as a surprise: book it quietly, tell the group, and let the guest of honor find a photographer waiting on the sand. Confetti, champagne glasses, a “dirty thirty” sash — bring whatever fits the celebration.

Girls’ trips

Royalton CHIC is a magnet for girls’-trip and bachelorette-style sessions — matching outfits optional, good light guaranteed. We keep these fast, fun and a little editorial, so the photos look like a campaign rather than a lineup.

And if it’s just the two of you? The same beach at golden hour is made for a couples session — several of our couples booked after seeing a group shoot happen in front of them.

How we pull off a surprise

Some of our favourite Royalton CHIC sessions are surprises — a partner planning a birthday shoot, a friend organising the reunion nobody knows is being photographed. The playbook is simple and we run it often: you message us the plan on WhatsApp, we agree on a discreet meeting point and a signal, and on the day we're already set up on the public beach looking like any other photographer. The guest of honour walks down for a "casual stroll," and we start shooting the moment the reveal lands — the double-take, the laugh, the whole group closing in. Tell us what you're planning and we'll help you choreograph it so nothing gives it away.

What to wear for a group on the beach

The trick with ten or fifteen people is a shared palette, not matching outfits. We suggest picking two or three colours that sit well together — soft neutrals, whites and one accent tend to photograph best against the turquoise — and letting everyone dress within that range. Barefoot or simple sandals keep the look clean, and for adults-only celebrations a bit of glamour reads beautifully on this stretch of sand. Send us a photo of what the group is thinking and we'll give honest feedback before the day.

Every Session We Photograph at Royalton CHIC

Same beach, same easy logistics — what changes is the reason you're in front of the camera. Here's the full range of sessions guests staying here book with us:

If the occasion you're picturing isn't on the list, message us anyway — if it happens on a beach, we've photographed it.

Why It Works Here

Punta Cancún Does Half the Job

Your hotel sits in the most photogenic square kilometer of the hotel zone — we just know where to stand.

  1. The beach is steps away

Playa Fórum / Gaviota Azul — one of Cancun's most iconic public beaches — is a short walk from the hotel, so a full group arrives without vans or logistics.

  2. On and off the sand

Beyond the beach, the Punta Cancún strip adds urban texture: boulevard lights, marina corners, that big-night-out energy between shots.

  3. Built for big groups

We choreograph 10–15 people without it feeling like a school photo: full group, sub-groups, candids, done before the sun gets high.

  4. No session fee

You only pay for the photos you keep — from $15 USD each — or a group package from $200 USD when you want more coverage.

Getting Around: Your Hotel, the Beach, the Landmarks

Royalton CHIC Cancún sits at Blvd. Kukulcán km 9.7, right in Punta Cancún — the buzzing elbow of the hotel zone. From the lobby, the public sands of Playa Fórum are about a five-minute walk, which is exactly where most of our Royalton CHIC sessions happen. Want the famous CANCUN sign instead? Playa Delfines at km 18 is roughly a 15–20 minute ride. Coming from the airport on arrival day, plan on about 25–30 minutes to the hotel.

When to shoot

For groups we love early morning: the beach is empty, the light is soft, and everyone is fresh (and on time — the pool hasn’t opened yet). Golden hour before sunset is the moodier alternative, especially for couples, though Punta Cancún gets livelier by then; we plan around it.

What a Session Costs

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD) and pick your favorites after seeing them all edited — or, for groups that want everyone covered, our photo packages from $200 USD include more images and longer coverage for less per photo. For a crew of thirteen, a package is almost always the better math.

Celebrating something bigger at the hotel? If a ceremony is part of your trip, our guide to tying the knot at Royalton CHIC covers that side. And for pure spectacle on the sand, ask about our signature beach-gown editorial sessions at Royalton CHIC — meters of flowing fabric, wind and Caribbean blue.

Got the Group. Got the Date?

Group Questions

Photo Sessions at Royalton CHIC — FAQ

Can a group of 10–15 people all be in the photos?

Yes — groups are our specialty at Punta Cancún. We structure the hour so you get full-group frames plus smaller combinations (couples, siblings, friend sub-groups), and nobody spends the session waiting around.

Do you shoot off the beach too?

We can. Most sessions start on the public sand near Playa Fórum, and if you want variety we add the Punta Cancún surroundings — boulevard, marina corners and urban backdrops — within the same hour.

How much does it cost?

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a group package from $200 USD — usually the better value once several people each want their own set of images.

How far in advance should we book in high season?

For December–April and July, a week or two ahead is ideal — sunrise slots go first. That said, message us even last-minute: with photographers working the hotel zone daily, we can often fit a group within a couple of days.

How long does a group session last?

About one hour on the beach for most groups. Larger crews or beach-plus-boulevard coverage run closer to 90 minutes — we recommend the right format once you tell us your headcount.

What is the best time of day?

Early morning for groups: empty sand, soft light, cooler air and everyone still fresh. Golden hour is the romantic alternative for couples — we schedule around how lively Punta Cancún gets by evening.
