The Wedding You Picture at Royalton CHIC, Built for a Party That Does Not Stop

A full wedding at Royalton CHIC starts with the ceremony and does not let up until the dance floor closes — every guest at one long, loud table. Two of you alone at sunrise makes it an elopement; a dozen close friends around a private dinner makes it intimate. Some couples come back years later for a vow renewal, or pair a symbolic ceremony with the legal one handled elsewhere. We photograph LGBTQ+ celebrations with the same eye, book a trash-the-dress shoot for the morning after, and cover the engagement portraits long before any of it is on the calendar. Add a videographer and the whole night gets captured in motion, not just held still in frames. Pick the backdrop — a sculptural terrace, a lit gazebo, dinner set under open sky, or straight onto the sand — and your adults-only wedding takes its shape from there.

Royalton CHIC keeps its whole guest list grown-up and its style deliberately modern, built for a reception that runs well past midnight. That is the pace your Royalton CHIC Cancún wedding photographer plans around: a video call or a coffee once you land, covering the ceremony, the lighting and when the after-party kicks off, long before the trip even starts. A bilingual Cancún crew has now covered more than 1,000 couples on this stretch of coast, backed by Travellers' Choice wins in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Real Royalton CHIC weddings, plus every collection we offer, live on our Cancun wedding photographer page — your date is just a WhatsApp message away.

Why Couples Choose a Royalton CHIC Wedding

The Freedom of a Wedding With No Kids' Table

Take the children out of the plan and the whole wedding changes shape. Here is what couples tell us they love most about a wedding at an adults-only, design-led resort like this one.

  1. A Later, Looser Wedding Reception

With no bedtimes to schedule around, the wedding dinner runs long, the toasts wander and the dance floor stays full past midnight — and that late energy is where the best candids live.

  2. An Elegant Wedding by Default

A design-led, adults-only resort sets a chic, considered tone for your wedding — cocktail-hour polish rather than family-resort bustle — and that mood turns up in every frame we take.

  3. A Focused Wedding Guest List

Adults-only trips tend to draw a tighter circle of close friends and family, which usually means a smaller, warmer wedding and more time with each person who travelled to be there.

  4. The After-Party Is Already Built In

The hotel zone's nightlife is right outside the door, so when your wedding reception winds down, the night does not have to. The grown-ups simply keep going.

From a Quiet Ceremony to an All-Night Reception at Royalton CHIC

Every wedding here starts from the same advantage — an adults-only resort built for a late night on a wide, east-facing beach — and then goes its own way. These are the three arrangements couples ask us for most, each with its own guide:

The Whole Night: Vows Into the Dance Floor

Getting ready, the first look, the beach or terrace ceremony, cocktails at golden hour, the reception and a dance floor that runs late, with one or two photographers depending on your guest count. Our destination wedding photography timeline shows how we pace a full wedding day so nothing is rushed.

Just Us, or the Dozen Who Matter Most

Two of you, or twelve: a sunrise ceremony on an empty beach, a dinner that doubles as the reception, and wedding portraits that take the whole golden hour because there is no schedule to serve. Start with our guide to eloping in Cancún and the intimate wedding guide.

A Vow Renewal Dressed Up for the Occasion

An anniversary marked again on the sand, a symbolic ceremony after the legal one back home, or a celebration for a couple already married — simpler paperwork, the same wedding photography, and every bit as chic. Our vow renewal guide covers how we plan it.

The Corner Where Your Wedding Meets the Open Sea

Royalton CHIC Cancún sits at Blvd. Kukulcán km 9.7, in Punta Cancún — the elbow of the hotel zone, where the coastline swings from the sheltered Bahía de Mujeres in the north to the open Caribbean running south. That geography is a quiet gift for your wedding photos. The resort fronts the eastern, open-sea stretch, so the beach out front — Playa Fórum, also known as Gaviota Azul, one of the most recognisable public beaches in Cancún — faces the sunrise, while the calmer, north-facing bay beaches are only minutes away around the point if your wedding portraits ever call for a change of texture. From the lobby, Playa Fórum is about a five-minute walk.

For wedding guests flying in, the location is easy to love. Cancún International Airport is roughly a 25-to-30-minute drive away, so a couple landing from the United States or Canada can be toasting on the sand the same afternoon. The famous CANCÚN letters and the wide sweep of Playa Delfines sit further south at km 18, about a 15-to-20-minute ride if you want that postcard for a portrait run. And because your ceremony, dinner, dance floor and rooms all live on one property, coordinating your wedding from another country is far simpler than it sounds — no taxis between venues, no addresses to juggle, no guest getting lost between the vows and the first dance.

What Your Wedding Photos Keep Coming Back To

Two things carry a Royalton CHIC wedding on camera: the architecture and the water. The resort's design-forward style — clean lines, bold contemporary materials, sculptural spaces — hands us modern backdrops that flatter getting-ready photos, first looks and reception details, and they read beautifully against the soft Caribbean palette. Then there is the beach itself: on a calm morning Playa Fórum is wide and that unmistakable turquoise, the long horizon doing half the work before we lift a finger.

Being at Punta Cancún means your wedding is never short of variety, either. Step off the sand and the boulevard offers a completely different texture — marina corners, palm-lined avenues, the glossy lights of the zone's entertainment strip a few steps away. For an adults-only wedding crowd, that flavour is a feature rather than a distraction: we can move from a barefoot beach frame at golden hour to a sharp, editorial night portrait against the city lights inside the same evening.

How Morning Light Finds Your Wedding at Royalton CHIC

Light decides everything on a beach, and Royalton CHIC's east-facing shoreline hands your wedding a clear plan. At sunrise the sun lifts straight out of the sea, so an early ceremony or a dawn portrait session on Playa Fórum gets clean, soft light off the water and a beach that is almost empty before the loungers fill. Late afternoon flips the scene: the sun drops behind the resort and the boulevard, throwing warm side-light down the sand for that golden-hour glow. The one window we steer around is high noon, when the overhead sun is harsh and unforgiving — which is precisely when the shaded, design-led interior spaces earn their place in the wedding timeline.

Season matters as much as the hour. The drier, clearer months generally bring the calmest sea, the most reliable light and the least sargassum on the sand, while late summer and early fall carry more humidity and a higher chance of a passing storm. None of it is a dealbreaker — it simply informs the date and the exact spot — and our guide to the best months to get married in Cancun breaks the year down season by season.

A Wedding Party Built for Grown-Ups

The adults-only setting is not just a mood; it changes how we shoot the reception. We plan for a genuine late night — more dancing, longer toasts, the loose and unguarded moments that only surface once the formal part is over and the bar is open. If you are leaning toward a smaller, closer wedding, which many couples here do, our guide to an intimate wedding in the Riviera Maya walks through how a tighter guest list reshapes the day and the coverage. Whatever your headcount, we build the timeline to protect the light for portraits and still be on the floor when the party peaks.

The Vendor Fee Question, Answered Before You Book

One practical note before the fun. Like most all-inclusive resorts here, Royalton CHIC typically applies an outside-vendor fee when you bring a wedding photographer from beyond its in-house roster, and it offers that in-house team inside the wedding package. Neither detail should pick your photographer for you — bringing your own means a dedicated eye on your day and a fully edited gallery in one consistent style — but you should know the terms going in. Rather than reprint the whole breakdown, we keep two guides current: resort vendor fees and bringing your own photographer covers the fee and the day-pass workaround, and the resort photographer versus bringing your own lays the two side by side.

On the paperwork: your ceremony here can be legal or symbolic, and that choice touches your documents far more than your photos. Most international couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony on the beach so the wedding day belongs entirely to them — our guide to a legal versus symbolic wedding in Mexico explains what each one actually asks of you.

Bringing the crew for more than the wedding? Our group & couples photo sessions at Royalton CHIC cover the rest of the trip, and for pure drama on the sand ask about our flying-dress beach editorials at Royalton CHIC.

Have a Royalton CHIC Date? Let's Design the Night Together.

Tell us your date and how you picture the night — the ceremony hour, the vendor question, and how late you want the dance floor to run. Your photographer meets you before the wedding, in person or on a call, and we plan every moment together. Every edited photo is included in every collection; the collections themselves — photo only, or photo and video — live on our Cancún wedding page.

Wedding Collections

Photo Only, or Photo + Video — Every Edited Photo Included

What changes between our wedding collections is coverage, not quality: how many hours of the day we are with you, whether one or two photographers cover the ceremony and the reception, and whether a dedicated videographer films alongside the photos. What never changes is that every edited photo from your Royalton CHIC wedding is included — no per-photo caps, no choosing forty out of four hundred.

The collections, what each one includes and their prices live on our Cancún wedding page, where you can also check your date.

Royalton CHIC Cancún Wedding Photography — FAQ

Can we hire you as our wedding photographer at Royalton CHIC Cancún?

Absolutely. We are an independent studio based in Cancún, photographing weddings across the hotel zone and the Riviera Maya most weeks, and we would join you at Royalton CHIC as your chosen outside wedding photographer. Check the resort's outside-vendor policy first — expect either a fee or a day pass — and we are glad to help you confirm the terms before your wedding day. Every edited image is yours, in every collection.

What happens after we book — when do we meet our wedding photographer?

Before the wedding, not on the morning of. One of our lead photographers talks the whole celebration through with you — in person if you are already in Cancún, on a call if you are planning from abroad — covering the timeline, the ceremony light and the vendor question, and agreeing exactly what we will deliver. By the time you arrive at Royalton CHIC, the plan is already yours.

Is Royalton CHIC Cancún really adults-only?

Yes. It is an adults-only, all-inclusive resort, so the wedding is built around grown-up guests — a long dinner, a full bar and a dance floor that runs late. Confirm the current minimum-age policy with the resort when you book.

When is the beach at Royalton CHIC best for wedding photos?

Early morning. Playa Fórum faces east, so at sunrise the light comes soft off the water and the sand is at its emptiest. Golden hour just before sunset is the other beautiful window — warmer, though the boulevard is livelier by then, which we plan around.

Can we bring our own photographer instead of the resort's team?

Usually yes, though most resorts here charge an outside-vendor fee or ask your photographer to buy a day pass, and Royalton CHIC offers its own in-house team inside the package. Because Mexican beaches are public, a session on Playa Fórum is another route entirely. We help you weigh the options — our vendor-fee guide covers the details.

Do you also film? Can we book photo and video for a Royalton CHIC wedding?

Yes. Our photo + video collections add a dedicated videographer who works alongside the photographers through the ceremony, the speeches and the first dance, so the two teams never get in each other's way. Photo-only collections and photo + video collections are both on our Cancún wedding page.

Do you charge extra to photograph a wedding in the hotel zone?

No. Punta Cancún is part of our normal coverage area, so there is no travel charge to Royalton CHIC or anywhere around Cancún and the Riviera Maya. The one add-on to budget is whatever the resort itself asks of outside vendors — a fee or a day pass you settle with their coordinator.
