Finest Playa Mujeres is the family side of the Playa Mujeres enclave — the same quiet, gated stretch of coast thirty minutes north of Cancún, but built for people travelling with children. That combination is genuinely useful for photographs. You get the calm, uncrowded shoreline of a premium resort area, and you get it without the unspoken rule that everyone has to stay quiet and still.
Most of what we shoot here is families: parents with small children, and often grandparents who flew in for the week. We plan those sessions around the kids, not around us. Full group first while everyone is fresh, then smaller combinations, then whatever the two-year-old is willing to do. It usually ends with everybody in the water, and those are typically the frames people order.

Multi-generation trips
Grandparents, parents, cousins — frequently the first time in years that everyone is in one place. We shoot the whole group first, while the youngest are still cooperating, then break it down: the grandparents alone, each nuclear family, the cousins together. Little kids and babies
We do not ask a three-year-old to smile at the camera; it never works. We give them something to do at the water's edge and photograph what happens. Sessions with babies we schedule right after a nap, not before.
Birthdays on the beach
Bring a cake and we will build the session around it. A beach birthday session here is calmer than the same thing downtown, and the photos have open sand behind them instead of a crowd.
Where the Resort Sits — and Why That Suits Families
Finest Playa Mujeres sits inside the gated Playa Mujeres community, on the coast north of Cancún and facing the channel toward Isla Mujeres. It is roughly thirty minutes from downtown Cancún and about forty from the airport. The area was developed later than the hotel zone and stayed low-rise, which is why the beach feels wide and unhurried.
For family photographs that geography matters more than it sounds. A protected, gently shelving shoreline means you can put children at the water without worrying, and an open eastern horizon means soft morning light instead of the hard glare you get later in the day.
How a Session Works With Children in the Group
We come to you — no travel fee to Playa Mujeres — and meet at a public beach access a short walk from the resort. Mexican beaches are federal public property with open access, so we can photograph the shoreline whatever a resort's policy on outside vendors happens to be. Plan on about an hour, though with small children we work to their pace rather than the clock.
Early morning is best, both for the light and because small children are at their most agreeable before the heat arrives. If you have a baby, tell us the nap schedule and we will build the session around it rather than the other way round.
What a Session Here Costs
There is no session fee. It works out at $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or a package from $200 USD — and with a family that is usually the better route, because each household ends up wanting its own set.
