Your Couples Photographer at Sun Palace Cancun

Honeymoon, anniversary and babymoon sessions on the quietest beach at the southern tip of the hotel zone — where the whole shoreline is yours and the airport is minutes away.

Sun Palace Cancún

The Quiet End of the Hotel Zone, All to Yourselves

Sun Palace sits at Km 20 on Blvd. Kukulcán — the very southern tip of Cancun's hotel zone, a short stroll from Punta Nizuc, where the resort strip finally thins out and the coast turns wild. It is couples-only and adults-only by design, and its beach is one of the quietest in all of Cancun. Guests come here precisely because the map runs out of crowd: the shoreline in front of the resort is broad, open and, most mornings, almost entirely empty.

That emptiness is a gift for photographs. After thousands of sessions up and down this coastline, we can tell you the southern end plays by different rules — softer, slower, and far more private than the busy heart of the strip. This guide is for the honeymooners, the couples marking an anniversary, and the parents-to-be on a babymoon who chose Sun Palace for the calm and want their pictures to feel exactly that calm. We meet you on the public beach a couple of minutes from the resort; the rest of the shoreline is yours.

A Beach That Empties Out Where the Map Ends

Most of Cancun’s famous beaches earn their reputation and pay for it in foot traffic. Walk down to the sand at Playa Fórum around Km 9 and you are sharing the view with catamarans, beach clubs and a few hundred other people. Sun Palace sits eleven kilometres further south, at Km 20, past the last cluster of big resorts and right up against the greenery of Punta Nizuc National Park. That single fact — the distance from the busy middle — is why the beach here stays so still. There is no beach-club soundtrack, no parade of vendors, just open Caribbean water and a horizon with almost nothing in it.

For a couple in front of the camera, that quiet does real work. It means we can position you anywhere along a wide stretch of sand without a stranger wandering into frame. It means the light and the sea are the only things competing for attention. And it means the session feels unhurried — the same reason you booked an adults-only resort at the calm end of the zone in the first place. Most of our Sun Palace mornings unfold with barely another soul in sight.

A Honeymoon That Never Has to Share the Sand

Honeymooners are the heart of what we shoot at Sun Palace. The couples-only setting sets the tone, and the empty beach delivers the pictures: the two of you against open water, no photobombers, no waiting for a gap in the crowd. We keep the direction gentle — most of our clients have never modelled a day in their lives — and the hour moves at the pace of a slow morning walk. Our full couples photoshoot guide for Cancun covers how we plan outfits, timing and the natural, un-posed poses that photograph best.

Anniversaries Measured in Footprints, Not Crowds

Plenty of guests here are back for a milestone — a fifth anniversary, a tenth trip, a return to the place a chapter began. The southern beach suits that mood perfectly: it is intimate and unshowy, the kind of backdrop that keeps the focus on the two of you rather than the scenery. If you are marking a special year, our guide to anniversary photoshoots in Cancun walks through how we turn an ordinary morning on the sand into something you will actually hang on a wall.

A Babymoon That Moves at Your Pace

Sun Palace is a favourite for babymoons, and the reasons are practical as much as pretty. The beach is flat and easy to reach, the pace is calm, and there are plenty of places to sit and rest between frames — no long treks, no jostling crowds. We build the session around how you feel that morning, with the soft early light doing the flattering work. If a babymoon is why you are here, our maternity and babymoon photoshoot guide explains what to wear and how we time everything around comfort.

Why the Southern Tip

Fewer Footprints, More Horizon

At Km 20, Sun Palace trades the energy of the strip for the calm of the coast’s quiet end — and that calm is exactly what makes the pictures.

  1. The quietest sand in the zone

Km 20 sits well beyond the busy middle of the hotel zone, so the beach in front of Sun Palace stays calm and open — clean backgrounds, no crowds to edit around.

  2. Couples-only calm

As an adults-only, couples-only resort, Sun Palace draws guests who came for peace. Early sessions feel almost private, which is exactly the mood a honeymoon or babymoon deserves.

  3. Minutes from the airport

One of the closest resorts to Cancun International Airport — about 15 minutes by car. If your dates are tight, a session here is easy to fit around arrivals and departures.

  4. Sunrise light, east-facing

The beach faces open water to the east, so the first warm light of the day lands here cleanly — soft, golden and forgiving, with the sea at its calmest.

Fifteen Minutes From the Runway, a World From the Noise

Sun Palace stands at Blvd. Kukulcán Km 20, at the southern tip of the Zona Hotelera, right where the resorts give way to the mangroves and coral of Punta Nizuc National Park. It is one of the closest resorts to Cancun International Airport (CUN) — about 15 minutes by car — which makes it a genuinely practical base for a short trip. We meet you at an easy public beach access a couple of minutes from the resort, and the session itself happens on the open public beach along this southern stretch. There are no taxis to arrange and no complicated logistics; the whole thing is walkable.

Want a change of backdrop within the same morning? Playa Delfines (Km 18), with its famous hilltop lookout and the giant Cancún letters, is only about 5–8 minutes north by car — the easiest add-on from Sun Palace and a lovely second scene. The livelier Playa Fórum (Km 9), in the heart of the strip, is roughly 20–25 minutes away if you want a busier, more iconic frame. Most of our Sun Palace couples stay right here, though; the reason you came south was to avoid exactly that bustle.

Sunrise Reaches the Southern End First

Because the beach faces east over open water, sunrise is the standout window here. The sand is at its emptiest, the light is soft and golden, and the sea is usually glass-calm before the day’s breeze picks up. A session runs about an hour and is guided from the first frame to the last — you pose, we handle the rest. Golden hour before sunset works beautifully too, but for a truly private feel on this stretch, first light is hard to beat. Tell us your dates and we’ll recommend the exact time.

Pricing is refreshingly simple: there’s no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a group package from $200 USD if family or friends are joining. You only pay for the images you love — see how it all works, and hundreds of recent sessions, on our Cancun photographer page.

Looking for something more dramatic to mark the trip? Ask about our signature beach-gown editorial sessions at Sun Palace — meters of flowing fabric caught in the sea breeze, made for the celebration mood of a honeymoon or anniversary.

Yes, noticeably. At Km 20 the resort sits at the southern tip of the zone, near Punta Nizuc, well beyond the busiest beach clubs around Km 9. The sand in front of it is one of the quietest stretches in Cancun, especially early in the morning — which is exactly why it photographs so cleanly.

Do you photograph babymoon sessions at Sun Palace?

Often. Sun Palace is a popular babymoon choice, and the calm, flat, easy-to-reach beach makes it comfortable for expecting couples. We keep the pace gentle, build in time to rest between frames, and work with the soft early light so you barely have to move for beautiful pictures.

How much does a couples session near Sun Palace cost?

About 15 minutes by car — it is one of the closest resorts to Cancun International Airport (CUN). That makes a session easy to schedule even on a short trip, whether right after you land or on your last morning before flying home.
