When a holiday brings together people aged two to eighty, the session has to work for all of them at once. These are the three shapes we photograph most often here, each with a guide of its own.

Little Ones Who Won’t Sit Still

We do not ask small children to pose; we give them something to do. Chasing the waves, digging, being swung between two adults — the photographs happen around the play, and the session ends before anyone gets tired. Teenagers, and the Quinceañera

Teenagers are usually the hardest sell, so we make the deal clear: a short group portrait, a few frames with their siblings, then they are free — and often they come back on their own once they see the pictures on the back of the camera. For a fifteenth birthday it is the reverse: the girl is the protagonist, the dress gets its own time, and the family joins at the end. Three Generations, One Frame

For many families this trip is the first time in years that everyone is in the same place. We start with the large group while everyone is fresh, then work through the combinations — each family unit, the grandparents with all the grandchildren, the siblings who grew up together — and keep it moving so nobody stands in the sun too long. Where We Meet Your Family: Km 17, South of the Hotel Zone

Hilton Cancun Mar Caribe stands at Blvd. Kukulcán Km 17, in the southern stretch of the hotel zone, about ten miles from Cancún International Airport — a short transfer, which matters when you are travelling with small children. We meet you at a public point near the hotel and photograph the family on the open sand right in front of it, so the session fits between breakfast and the pool without anyone getting in a car.

If the group wants a second backdrop, Playa Delfines lies roughly a kilometre and a half to the north, a public beach with no hotel built on it and a lookout above the sand. Older children and teenagers usually enjoy the change of scene; with toddlers we normally stay by the hotel and keep the session short. In summer, sea turtles nest along this part of the coast: marked nests are left alone, and we plan the session around them.

Morning Sessions for Families With Children

The beach faces east, so the first hours after sunrise bring soft light off the sea, cool sand and very few people — the best combination for children and grandparents alike. Late afternoon works too, with warmer colour, but by then the little ones are often tired. Send us your dates and we will suggest the right hour for each day of the trip.

Pricing is straightforward: there is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or a group package from $200 USD, which is usually the better option for a large family.
