Most guests who message us from Hyatt Ziva are here as a family, and the trip is usually the reason for the photos — the first big vacation with the baby, the grandparents finally in the same place, a whole crew that pooled their points for one week in the sun. These are the three sessions we shoot most on the Punta Cancun sand.

Families with little kids

This is the beach we recommend above all others for toddlers and babies, precisely because the walk is so short: no car seats, no highway, no missed nap. We keep a family session loose and playful — short bursts of shooting, breaks to dig in the sand, and candids caught between the posed frames. The calm, shallow water on the Bahia de Mujeres side lets even the smallest ones wade safely while we work.

Big multi-generation groups

When three generations travel together, the wide, flat sand at Punta Cancun earns its keep. We choreograph a group session so nobody hides in the back row: the full lineup first while everyone is fresh, then quick rotations — grandparents with the baby, the cousins in a heap, each nuclear family on its own — before the little ones run out of patience.

Everyday vacation memories

Not every session needs an occasion. Plenty of Hyatt Ziva guests simply want real photos of the trip instead of a phone roll of strangers' heads — the toddler meeting the sea, the teenagers pretending they're too cool, a slow walk down the shore at golden hour. The Walk-to-the-Beach Advantage

Hyatt Ziva anchors the tip of Punta Cancun, at about km 8.5 of Boulevard Kukulcan — the elbow of the hotel zone where the strip meets the open Caribbean. For a photo session, that address is gold: Playa Gaviota Azul and Playa Forum, two of the most photogenic public beaches in Cancun, begin roughly five minutes on foot from the hotel’s beach access. Families with a stroller, grandparents, or a toddler fresh from a nap simply walk over — no van, no car seats, no “are we there yet.”

Want the famous giant CANCUN sign in your gallery? Playa Delfines sits about a 15–20 minute drive south along the boulevard, and we can add it as a second stop. Cancun International Airport (CUN) is around 25 minutes away, which is why so many families book the first or second morning of the trip — you land, you settle in, and by the next breakfast your postcard photos are already done.

We meet at an easy public spot near the hotel entrance or the beach access — we send the exact pin on WhatsApp the day before — and the session happens right there on the public sand of Punta Cancun. The format is always the same: one unhurried hour of golden light, candid moments and gentle direction, with time built in for every family combination you want.

The Kindest Light for Kids: Go Early

With small children we almost always recommend the first hour after sunrise. The east-facing sand at Punta Cancun catches soft, flattering light; the air is still fresh, so nobody is sweaty or squinting; and the beach is practically empty, so your kids can run free while we shoot. By 9 a.m. you are back at the pool and the little ones still get their whole day. Sunset is lovely for couples and adult groups, but mornings are when children glow.

Simple Pricing, No Session Fee

Our model is built for families: there is no session fee — you pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose one of our group packages from $200 USD. You only pay for the images you actually love, which takes all the pressure off a session with unpredictable toddlers.
