Sand to Spare for a Session Built for Two
Some beaches in Cancun make you work for the shot. The sand in front of Hyatt Zilara Cancun is not one of them. This adults-only, all-inclusive resort sits at about Km 11.5 of Boulevard Kukulcan, mid hotel zone, on one of the widest stretches of beach on the whole strip — a broad, open runway of white sand where the horizon stays clean whichever way we point the camera.
That extra room matters more than most couples expect. We've photographed thousands of sessions across Cancun, and wide sand means we can place you exactly where the light and the water look their best — no squeezing between palapas, no strangers drifting through the frame. We meet you at an easy public spot near the hotel's beach access, and the whole session happens right there on the public beach in front of the resort.
What We Photograph Most at Hyatt Zilara
Hyatt Zilara is an 18-plus resort, and its guest list shapes the sessions we shoot here: this is a beach for two. No school-vacation crowds, no sandcastle construction sites — just couples with an unhurried morning and a very good excuse for beautiful photos. Three occasions come up again and again.
Couples
Most of our Hyatt Zilara sessions are simply the two of you: honeymoons, long-overdue getaways, surprise trips. The wide sand gives us room for walking shots, sweeping backdrops and quiet close-ups without an audience. To see how we direct people who “don’t know how to pose” — that’s everyone, by the way — take a look at our couples photoshoot guide for Cancun.
Anniversaries
Five years or thirty-five, an anniversary trip deserves better than a phone selfie at dinner. We build a relaxed hour around the two of you in golden light and, if you like, work in a small toast or a letter exchange. Our anniversary photoshoot ideas show how couples turn this into a tradition they repeat at every milestone.
Babymoons
An adults-only resort is where babymoons happen, and the flat, wide beach in front of Hyatt Zilara is unusually comfortable for them: firm sand near the waterline, short distances and no crowds to weave through. We keep the pace gentle, with breaks whenever you need them. For posing ideas and what to wear, see our maternity & babymoon photoshoot guide.
Finding Us: Km 11.5, Mid Hotel Zone
Hyatt Zilara sits at about Km 11.5 of Boulevard Kukulcan — roughly the midpoint of the hotel zone and about 25 minutes from Cancun International Airport (CUN). That central address is genuinely useful for a photo session: you are about a 5–8 minute drive from Playa Forum (Km 9) and about 10–12 minutes from Playa Delfines (Km 18), home of the famous CANCUN sign, if you want a second backdrop in the same morning.
Most couples never need to leave, though. The beach here is one of the widest stretches in the zone, so the clean-horizon look other visitors drive around chasing is already at your doorstep. We meet at an easy public spot near the hotel’s beach access — we send the exact pin on WhatsApp the day before — and shoot right there on the public sand.
Sunrise or Sunset on a Wide, East-Facing Beach?
The sand here faces east over open water, so sunrise is the headline act: soft, warm light straight off the Caribbean, fresh air and an almost private beach — at an adults-only resort, very few people are up at 6:45. Sunset works too; the light turns pink, and the width of the beach lets us shoot away from the buildings so the frame stays all sky and water. If you have to choose, we almost always vote sunrise for babymoons (cooler air) and either one for couples.
You Pay Only for the Photos You Keep
There is no session fee — you pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose one of our group packages from $200 USD. For a couples or babymoon session, that means you shoot first and decide afterwards which images are worth keeping — no pressure, no bundle of filler shots.
Want something more editorial in the same morning? This very stretch of sand hosts our signature beach-gown editorial sessions at Hyatt Zilara — the wide beach is exactly what lets the fabric fill the frame. And you can browse everything we shoot across the city, from surprise proposals to milestone birthdays, on our Cancun photographer page.

A Wide Beach Changes Everything
Four practical reasons this stretch of sand flatters a session for two.
-
Room and clean horizons
One of the widest stretches of beach in the zone lets us angle every shot toward open water and sky — nobody wandering behind you.
-
Adults-only calm
The sand in front of an 18-plus resort stays quieter and more unhurried — made for close, romantic frames.
-
Central and connected
From Km 11.5 you are about 5–8 minutes by car from Playa Forum and about 10–12 from the CANCUN sign at Playa Delfines for an optional second stop.
-
Soft light, long mornings
East-facing sand catches sunrise straight off the water, and the open beach holds that glow longer than tighter stretches do.
Photo Sessions at Hyatt Zilara Cancun — FAQ
How crowded is the beach in front of Hyatt Zilara at Km 11.5?
It is one of the widest stretches of beach in the hotel zone, and the resort is adults-only, so even in high season the sand photographs open and calm. At sunrise it is practically empty — we work on the public beach, and there is plenty of room to keep any passers-by out of the frame.
How much does a couples or babymoon photoshoot near Hyatt Zilara cost?
There is no session fee — you pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose one of our group packages from $200 USD. You only pay for the photos you love.
How long does a session near Hyatt Zilara last?
About one hour on the beach — plenty of time for walking shots, close-ups and a slower, quieter moment. If you want the CANCUN sign too, we add Playa Delfines as a second stop, about a 10–12 minute drive away.
I'm pregnant — will the session be comfortable for me?
Yes. The beach in front of Hyatt Zilara is flat and wide, with firm sand near the waterline and short distances from the meeting point. We go at your pace, with breaks whenever you need them, and we recommend sunrise for the cooler air. Bring water and comfortable sandals.
Is sunrise or sunset better for photos on this beach?
The beach faces east, so sunrise gives direct golden light and the emptiest sand. Sunset turns soft and pink, and thanks to the width of the beach we can still frame toward open water. For babymoons we almost always suggest sunrise.
