Honest Answers About Photo Packages at Moon Palace

Every season we photograph dozens of families staying at Moon Palace Cancun — grandparents celebrating anniversaries, kids on their first beach vacation, birthday crews that fill three suites. And almost every conversation starts with the same question: what do photography packages actually cost?

This guide answers that question with real numbers up front, then walks you through how a session works when you are staying at a resort this size: where we meet, which beaches we use, and how to fit it into your vacation days.

Moon Palace Photography Packages: The Real Numbers

Here’s the part most photography websites make you dig for. With Pro Art Photographers there is no session fee — you pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum, which means a full session starts at $150 USD. Prefer one fixed price? Group packages start from $200 USD. That is the entire pricing model: no booking charge, no surprise add-ons when your gallery arrives.

The per-photo option is the favorite of couples and smaller families. The shoot itself costs nothing, we photograph generously, and you only pay for the images you actually love, starting at the 10-photo minimum. It rewards people who want a relaxed session without committing to a big bundle in advance.

Group packages from $200 USD are the smarter route for multi-generation families, birthday groups and friend reunions. With more people you want more combinations — the whole group, each household, the grandparents with every grandchild — so locking in a larger set of photos at a fixed price usually saves both money and mental math. Either way, the result is the same: professionally edited images delivered through a private online gallery within 72 hours.

How a Session Works When You’re Staying at Moon Palace

Moon Palace Cancun is enormous — a mega-resort with three sections, Sunrise, Nizuc and The Grand, stretched along the coast south of the airport. That size is wonderful for a vacation, but it raises a fair question: where does the photo session actually happen?

The honest answer: not inside the resort. Like most large all-inclusive properties, Moon Palace reserves its grounds for its own vendors, so we keep things simple. We agree on an easy public meeting point near the resort — typically by the main entrance of your section, where taxis and transfers pull in — or we meet directly at a nearby public beach. Mexican beaches are federal property with public access, so your photos get the same white sand and turquoise water without any resort paperwork.

From there, everything is effortless. Message us on WhatsApp with your dates and group size, we recommend a time — the hour after sunrise and the last hour before sunset carry the most flattering light — and we confirm the exact spot the day before. The shoot runs about an hour, and we direct every pose, so nobody has to wonder what to do with their hands.

Most Moon Palace guests book us for a family photoshoot in Cancun, but the same pricing covers a group photoshoot for reunions, a relaxed vacation photoshoot, or a birthday photoshoot on the sand.

Big Resort, Simple Photo Logistics

A property the size of Moon Palace changes how you plan a photo session — mostly for the better.

  1. Minutes from the airport

The resort sits just south of Cancun International Airport, so a session fits easily on arrival or departure day without eating into your vacation.

  2. Built for big groups

Three sections and thousands of rooms mean the whole crew can travel together — and our group packages are designed around exactly that kind of trip.

  3. Caribbean light nearby

Wide public beaches with white sand and turquoise water are a short ride away, giving your photos the postcard backdrop this coast is famous for.

  4. One easy meeting point

We agree on a simple public spot near your section's entrance or beach access, so nobody wanders a mega-resort looking for the photographer.

Where Moon Palace Sits — and Where We Shoot

Moon Palace Cancun is on the Carretera Cancún–Chetumal at about km 340, on the mainland coast just south of Cancun International Airport — roughly a 10 to 15 minute drive from the terminals. It is not inside the hotel zone, which surprises some guests: the famous Cancun beaches are a short ride north.

For sessions we usually suggest one of two public beaches. Playa Delfines, at the southern end of the hotel zone, is about 20 to 25 minutes away (roughly 22 km) and gives you the iconic lookout, wide-open sand and that impossible shade of blue. Playa Fórum, in the heart of the party district, is around 30 minutes away and shines at sunrise, before the crowds arrive. If you would rather stay close, we can also meet at a public access point near the resort itself.

A quick note for couples: if you’re planning your ceremony at Moon Palace, we wrote an honest guide to how the property’s size shapes your photo day — worth reading before you build your timeline. And you can browse full galleries and every session type on our Cancun photographer page.
