Iberostar Cancun Photographer — Free to Book, Pay Per Photo

Yes, free means free: booking your photoshoot costs nothing. After the session you decide what you pay for — photo by photo, or with the package you like.

Iberostar Selection Cancún

Long Stays Leave Room to Pick the Day — and Any Session at Iberostar Selection Cancún Is Free to Book

Somebody in the party usually has a birthday during a stay this long, and that is often what starts the conversation — candles at breakfast, then an hour with a camera before dinner. From there the list opens out. Children photographed at the age when posing is still a game. Quinceañera portraits, and a dress that travelled here in a suitcase of its own. Three generations lined up in one frame, which for many of these groups has not happened since the last trip. An hour where the parents are the only two in the picture. Anniversaries that stopped being counted in single figures a long time ago. A surprise proposal built over weeks of quiet messages. Maternity and babymoon sessions taken slowly. Friends who booked the same fortnight on purpose. And a portrait of whoever normally ends up behind the camera.

Bookings here run long — a week is the short version, a fortnight is normal, and Selection is the tier people pick when they intend to stay that long — so almost nobody is squeezing a session between two flights. As the Iberostar Cancun photographer those guests write to weeks ahead, we agree it all on WhatsApp before anyone boards a plane: which morning, how many of you, what cannot be missing from the pictures. Not one step of that costs you anything. Thousands of sessions across Cancun have taught us which hour of the day repays a group of twelve, and with fourteen nights to choose from you get that hour instead of whatever was left over. The same figures apply to two photos or to two hundred — per photo and per package, both sit on our Cancun photographer page. Write while the trip is still a spreadsheet, or write from a lounger on day three — both are early enough for us.

Why Guests Book Us Here

Green Fairways, Calm Beach, One Famous Backdrop

Iberostar Selection Cancún occupies the quieter southern end of the zone near Punta Nizuc, where the beaches run wide and the crowds thin — and the most iconic photo spot in the city is barely up the road.

  1. The CANCÚN letters, minutes away

Playa Delfines and its giant letters sit at Km 18, about three to five minutes by car from the hotel. We build the postcard shot into your session without eating a whole morning in traffic.

  2. A calm, green setting

With its own golf course and manicured grounds, Iberostar feels unhurried. The southern beaches near Km 17 are among the widest in the zone, so there is room to move and clean sand behind every frame.

  3. We meet you at the beach access

No resort access needed. We meet at the public beach entrance a couple of minutes from the hotel and shoot on the open sand right in front — easy for grandparents, strollers and big groups alike.

  4. Built for families and groups

Our sessions are relaxed and directed — most of our clients are not models. We wrangle toddlers, herd cousins and catch the candid laughs, then hand you images you will actually print.

The Postcard Letters Are a Five-Minute Hop Away

Here is the geography that makes Iberostar such a clever base. The hotel stands at Km 17, near Punta Nizuc at the southern tip of the hotel zone, and Playa Delfines — home to the famous CANCÚN sign at Km 18 — is barely a kilometre farther up Boulevard Kukulcán, about three to five minutes by car. Playa Delfines is also the highest lookout on the coast, a free public beach with a sweeping view over water that seems to turn every shade of blue at once. It is open to everyone, and it is the backdrop that says, unmistakably, you were here.

We usually build a session in two acts: the relaxed part on the wide, calm sand right in front of the hotel at Km 17, then a short drive north to Playa Delfines for the letters and the panorama. You get intimacy and icon in the same hour, without the long haul so many guests assume the famous sign requires. The green, unhurried feel of the resort grounds carries into the pictures — nobody arrives frazzled from a cross-town crawl.

Family Portraits Between the Palms and the Letters

Families are the heart of what we do here. The southern beaches are gentle and shallow — kind to little ones and easy for grandparents — and the letters give older kids something to climb and pose on while we work fast and keep it fun. If you are traveling with children, our full family photoshoot guide for Cancún covers outfits, timing and how to keep toddlers smiling; at Iberostar we simply add the postcard finish at Playa Delfines.

When the Whole Crew Wants the Same Shot

Reunions, milestone birthdays, friends who finally all landed on the same beach in the same week — big groups love this location precisely because the letters and the wide sand can hold everyone. We are used to arranging fifteen people so nobody is hidden and nobody is squinting into the sun. See how we handle larger parties in our Cancún group photoshoot guide, then let us do the same with the CANCÚN sign rising behind you.

The Vacation You Will Actually Have Pictures Of

Not every session needs an occasion. Plenty of guests simply want proof they were here — real images instead of a phone roll of strangers' heads at the sign. An hour with us turns the trip into something you will frame: the family on the sand at Km 17, the group under the letters, the golden-hour walk along the shore. Our vacation photoshoot guide for Cancún shows the kind of everyday-magic images we mean.

Finding Us: Km 17, Punta Nizuc and the Drive Times That Matter

Iberostar Selection Cancún stands at Blvd. Kukulcán Km 17, in the calm southern reach of the hotel zone near Punta Nizuc, where the Nichupté Lagoon and the Caribbean squeeze close together. From Cancún International Airport (CUN) it is a straightforward drive of about 15 to 20 minutes — among the closest resorts to the airport in the whole zone, which is why so many guests arrive with energy to spare. Playa Delfines and the CANCÚN letters at Km 18 are about three to five minutes north; the livelier Playa Fórum at Km 9, in the heart of the zone, is roughly 20 minutes the other way if you want a different backdrop.

We meet you at the public beach access near the hotel — no need to be an Iberostar guest and no resort access required. The session itself happens on the open public beach in front of Km 17 and, when you want the icon, at Playa Delfines up the road. Tell us your dates and group size and we will pick the exact meeting spot and the best light for the day.

What a Session Costs — and What It Does Not

Our pricing is refreshingly simple: there is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a group package from $200 USD when there is a crowd to capture. You only pay for the images you love, and there is never a charge just to show up. For the full picture of how we work — and hundreds of recent families and groups — visit our Cancún photographer page.

Celebrating something and want a little drama in the frame? Ask about our signature beach-gown editorial sessions at Iberostar, where meters of fabric catch the sea breeze for a bolder, magazine-style look you can add on the same morning.

Let's Put Your Family in Front of Those Letters

Message us your travel dates and group size. The golden-hour slots near Playa Delfines fill quickly, especially in high season — the earlier you reach out, the better the window we can hold.

Good to Know

Family & Group Sessions at Iberostar — Your Questions

Can we really get the CANCÚN sign at Playa Delfines in our session?

Yes — it is the reason many guests choose Iberostar. Playa Delfines and its giant letters are at Km 18, about three to five minutes by car from the hotel at Km 17. We build the letters into most family and group sessions, usually pairing them with the calmer beach right in front of the resort.

Do we need to be staying at Iberostar for a photo session?

No. We shoot on the public beaches of the southern hotel zone and at Playa Delfines, all of which are open to everyone. We meet you at the public beach access a couple of minutes from the hotel — no resort access required.

Is the beach near Iberostar good for young children and grandparents?

It is one of the gentler stretches in the zone. The southern beaches near Km 17 are wide and shallow, with easy public access, so toddlers, strollers and grandparents all manage comfortably. We keep the pace relaxed and work quickly with the little ones.

How much does a family or group session near Iberostar cost?

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or pick a group package from $200 USD when the whole crew is in the frame. You only pay for the images you love.

What is the best time of day for photos here?

Early morning is our favorite. The hotel-zone beach faces east, so sunrise pours soft light straight off the water and the sand — including Playa Delfines — is at its emptiest before the day heats up. Golden hour before sunset is the runner-up when mornings do not suit your plans.
