Rosewood Mayakoba Photographer: Book Free, Pay Only for the Photos You Love

Yes, free means free: booking your photoshoot costs nothing. After the session you decide what you pay for — photo by photo, or with the package you like.

Rosewood Mayakoba

Rosewood Mayakoba Was Built to Be One Place Only, and Every Session Here Is Free to Reserve

Most stays here begin with one person deciding that a birthday should happen somewhere nobody in the family had been: a fiftieth, a seventieth, once a ninth. Families follow the same reasoning — a first long flight the parents wanted to be worth taking — and the youngest traveller sets the timetable from the hour she lands. Anniversaries and honeymoons take the quiet end of the day. A proposal gets drafted across four weeks of messages, down to the sentence itself. Then the rest: the last free week before a baby; a quinceañera whose party back home is still eight months off; four friends who booked separately and met at the door; a yacht morning, so the whole group fits into one frame for once; and the portrait a guest orders for herself and mentions to nobody.

Rosewood builds every house it owns to belong to one place and to no other — the brand says so out loud — so nobody checks in here having already stayed somewhere identical. The photographs follow from that: not interchangeable holiday pictures, but a week that happens once, in a house that exists once. Your Rosewood Mayakoba photographer works to that standard, and none of it opens with an invoice — the hour itself is held at no charge, and thousands of sessions across Playa del Carmen have already told us what a property like this one gives a camera and what it holds back. Who appears in each frame, how the group is dressed, the point at which the youngest one is finished: all of that gets decided in a WhatsApp thread opened long before check-in. Only one thing here is deliberately the same as everywhere else — what a photograph costs — and that figure has been published where anyone can read it first, on our Playa del Carmen photographer page. Give us the dates and the names of everyone coming, and the reply will tell you which hour of that week we would choose.

The Celebrations Couples Book at Rosewood Mayakoba

You booked one of the most private resorts on this coast, and that tells us most of what we need before you even write: this is a trip for two, and usually it is marking something. These are the three sessions couples staying here book most.

Anniversaries

The trip is the gift; the photographs are the part that outlives it. Ten years, twenty-five, forty — the number changes and the request never does: one unhurried hour, the two of you, dressed the way you dressed for the dinner you already reserved. We shoot it at first light, so the beach is yours and the whole day is still ahead of you. Our anniversary session guide shows how we pace an hour like that.

Honeymoons

A once-in-a-lifetime week deserves better than a phone held out at arm’s length. For honeymooners we keep the direction light and the hour slow — a walk, a quiet moment, the two of you doing very little beyond being together — and you leave with the one set of images from this trip you will genuinely print and hang. Our honeymoon photoshoot guide for the Riviera Maya covers outfits and timing.

Couples portraits

No anniversary, no announcement, nothing to celebrate except the first week in a long while that belongs to nobody but the two of you — and a quiet preference for remembering it properly. This is the most relaxed of the three: a slow hour on the sand, gentle direction, and photographs that look like the two of you rather than a pose. Our couples photoshoot guide covers what to wear and when to meet.

The Beach We Take Rosewood Couples To

The Mayakoba complex sits behind its gate roughly 9 kilometres north of downtown Playa del Carmen, and we keep you out of the drive into town entirely — the sessions we shoot for couples here happen at Playa Xcalacoco, the free public beach right beside the complex. There is nothing to book and nothing that can cancel your morning; we send the exact pin over WhatsApp the day before, and for a couple we can arrange to collect you.

That stretch of coast earns its place for one reason above the rest: it is quiet. Xcalacoco carries a Blue Flag and stays calm and uncrowded in the early hour, and Punta Esmeralda — a little further along the same public shore — is the quieter alternative still, for couples who want almost nobody else in the frame. Either way the sand is effectively yours while the light is soft, and you are back behind the gate before the day has properly started.

Simple Pricing, No Session Fee

Pricing is refreshingly simple: there is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a photo package from $200 USD if you would rather have the fuller gallery — so you only ever pay for the images you love. You can see everything we offer, and hundreds of recent sessions, on our Playa del Carmen photographer page.

Every hotel has its own rules about photography on the property. We know how each one works — message us and we’ll tell you exactly what your options are where you’re staying.

Almost nobody who books us has been photographed properly before, and there is nothing to apologise for — we direct the whole thing, and you can see how that turns out on our Playa del Carmen photographer page. Send us your dates and we will tell you which morning to keep free.

Hold a Morning for the Two of You

Tell us your dates and what you are marking, and we will set aside a morning. The first-light slots are the quiet ones, and they are the ones that go first.

Why the First Hour

Why Couples Here Book the Quiet Hour

Everything we shoot for couples staying at Rosewood Mayakoba happens in one short window — not for the light alone, but because that is the hour the beach is still empty and effectively yours.

  1. You get the beach to yourselves

Before the loungers and the crowds, the sand at Xcalacoco is quiet — so your anniversary picture has the two of you in it and nobody else’s morning behind you.

  2. You are back before the day starts

A short drive, an unhurried hour on the sand, and you are behind the gate again before the resort has properly woken up.

  3. We direct the whole thing

Almost nobody who books us has done this before. We tell you where to stand and what to do with your hands, so the result looks like the two of you.

  4. You keep only what you love

There is no session fee. You see the full gallery afterwards and choose from it, which takes the pressure off the hour.

Good to Know

Couples Sessions at Rosewood Mayakoba — FAQ

We are not models and we have never done this. Will it look awkward?

No, and it is the thing almost everyone apologises for in their first message. Practically nobody who books us has been photographed properly before. We direct the entire hour: where to stand, where to look, and when to simply talk to each other and ignore us. What comes out looks like the two of you, not like posing.

How much does a couples session at Rosewood Mayakoba cost?

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a photo package from $200 USD if you would rather have the fuller gallery. You see the full set first and choose from it afterwards, so you only ever pay for the images you love.

Where do we meet you if we are staying at Rosewood Mayakoba?

At Playa Xcalacoco, the free public beach right beside the Mayakoba complex — no resort access needed and nothing to book. We send the exact pin over WhatsApp the day before, and for a couple we can arrange to collect you.

We want to keep an anniversary trip low-key. How long does it take?

Plan on about an hour on the sand, at first light. That is long enough for a full set of images and short enough that you are back behind the gate before the day you actually planned has started. We keep the direction light so it feels like a walk, not a shoot.

Does it have to be in the morning?

It does not, but you should know the trade. This coast faces east, so there is no sunset over the water here. Mornings give you soft light and an empty beach; the hour before sunset is still beautiful, it just will not be quiet. Either way, plan on about an hour on the sand.
