Every Wedding You Can Picture at Hyatt Zilara, Built Around the Two of You
A full wedding with the ceremony, the reception and the last dance; an elopement for just the two of you; an intimate wedding of twenty; a vow renewal on your tenth anniversary; a symbolic ceremony, a legal one, or both; an LGBTQ+ wedding; a trash-the-dress or day-after session; the engagement portraits before any of it — and video alongside the photos if you want the day moving as well as still. Gazebo, oceanfront terrace, garden, a private dinner under the stars or the resort's own wide beach: whatever you picture for an adults-only wedding at Hyatt Zilara, we build the wedding photography around it.
As your Hyatt Zilara Cancún wedding photographer we start the way we start every wedding — with a conversation. Before the day, one of our lead photographers sits down with you, in person or on a call, to hear how you imagine it, and together we plan every moment and everything you will take home. It is how a bilingual Cancún team has photographed more than 1,000 couples on this coast, with Travellers' Choice 2023–2025 to show for it. See real weddings and our collections on the Cancun wedding photographer page, or message us on WhatsApp with your date.
What an Adults-Only Beach Quietly Gives Your Wedding Photos
Ceremony gazebos, guest capacities and package tiers are the wedding coordinator's department — always confirm those with the resort directly. Our lane is the picture: how a broad, quiet, east-facing beach behaves for a wedding camera, and at Zilara several of those variables tilt your way.
-
A Wedding Morning Built for Sunrise
Zilara's sand faces east over open Caribbean water, so the softest light of the day lands at dawn — low, warm, and straight off the sea. At an eighteen-and-over resort almost nobody is out at 6:45, which turns the widest beach on the strip into a near-private set for a first-light couple's session before the wedding.
-
Room the Crowds Do Not Have
This is one of the broadest stretches of sand anywhere in the hotel zone. That width lets us aim every wedding frame at clean horizon and open sky, with no palapas or passers-by cluttering the edges — the uncluttered look other couples drive the coast hunting for.
-
Kid-Free Backgrounds, All Wedding Day
Because Ziva absorbs the families next door, the Zilara side stays hushed and unhurried. Cocktail-hour portraits, the beach ceremony, the slow golden-hour walk — each one unfolds without a stranger's vacation snapshot happening behind you.
-
A Second Backdrop in the Same Golden Hour
Playa Delfines and its iconic CANCÚN letters sit just 10–12 minutes up the boulevard — close enough to fold into the same wedding-day light without losing the glow, if a second location is on your list.
The Weddings We Photograph at Hyatt Zilara
Every wedding at Zilara starts from the same advantage — an eighteen-and-over resort on the widest sand in the hotel zone — and then goes its own way. These are the three we are asked for most here, each with its own guide:
Full Weddings — Ceremony to Last Dance
Getting ready, the first look, the beach or gazebo ceremony, cocktails on the terrace, the reception and the dance floor, with one or two photographers depending on your guest count. Our destination wedding photography timeline shows how we pace a full wedding day so nothing is rushed.
Elopements & Intimate Weddings
Two of you, or twenty: a sunrise ceremony on an empty beach, a dinner that doubles as the reception, and wedding portraits that take the whole golden hour because there is no schedule to serve. Start with our guide to eloping in Cancún and the intimate wedding guide.
Vow Renewals & Symbolic Ceremonies
An anniversary renewed on the sand, a symbolic ceremony after the legal one back home, or a celebration for a couple already married — simpler paperwork, the same wedding photography. Our vow renewal guide covers how we plan it.
Where Hyatt Zilara Sits — and How Your Wedding Day Moves
Zilara shares an address with Ziva at roughly Km 11.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán, near the midpoint of the hotel zone and about a 25-minute transfer from Cancún International Airport (CUN). That central footing pays off on a wedding day. Playa Forum at Km 9 is a 5-to-8-minute drive; Playa Delfines at Km 18 is 10 to 12 minutes on, and it hands you a wholly different backdrop — the giant CANCÚN letters and the El Mirador overlook — inside the same golden hour, should you want a second location.
For guests, it is about as painless as a destination wedding gets: one all-inclusive gate, no convoy between a ceremony site and a reception hall across town, and the coast’s broadest beach a short walk from their rooms. We meet your wedding party at the resort, work the sand out front, and leave the grounds only if you specifically want the CANCÚN sign at Playa Delfines.
Wedding Light on an East-Facing Beach
Golden hour — the soft, generous light in the hour bracketing sunset — is where wedding photos live, the glow that warms skin and tints the sea rose. On this beach we generally build the ceremony to begin roughly two hours ahead of sundown, enough runway for vows, family groupings, and an unhurried portrait set while the colour still holds. The east-facing aspect throws in a second option most resorts cannot match: a dawn session on a beach that is briefly yours alone, lit cleanly off the water, for couples willing to beat the alarm.
The wrinkle is seasonal. Sundown slides almost an hour and a half across the calendar from December to June, so a time that finishes in gold one month finishes in the dark the next; we anchor each wedding timeline to the true sunset for your date. Our deeper dive on the best months for a Cancún wedding maps how that light moves through the year, with candid notes on heat and sargassum.
Bringing Your Own Wedding Photographer to Hyatt Zilara
Before anything is signed, ask the resort — in writing — how it treats an outside wedding photographer. Properties in this bracket usually do one of two things: charge a photographer fee, or admit your shooter on a paid day pass. Both are routine, and neither is a reason to give up the photographer you truly want; you simply want the terms on paper well before the morning of. We take the whole subject apart — the fees, the passes, the small print — in our guide to outside-photographer vendor fees at Cancún resorts, and we set an independent photographer beside the one folded into a package in resort photographer versus your own.
A Legal Wedding or a Symbolic Ceremony at Zilara?
One more early call sets the day’s tempo. A legal civil marriage in Mexico brings paperwork, witnesses, and a stricter clock; plenty of couples instead handle the legal part back home and stage a symbolic ceremony on Zilara’s sand that looks identical through the lens and loosens the schedule. Decide it before we draft your wedding timeline, because it governs when the ceremony can start.
As your Hyatt Zilara Cancún wedding photographer, we liaise with the resort’s events team no matter where you are planning from — the bulk of our couples arrange everything stateside and shake our hands for the first time on arrival. Travelling with relatives or friends who will want a beach session of their own around the wedding? Our guide to family and group photo sessions at Hyatt Zilara Cancún maps the easy public spots close by, and for something more editorial on that same stretch, browse our beach-gown flying-dress sessions at Zilara.
Planning Your Hyatt Zilara Wedding? Let’s Start With a Conversation.
Tell us your date and how you picture the day. Your photographer meets you before the wedding — in person or on a call — and we plan every moment together: the ceremony hour on this east-facing beach, the vendor question, and what you want in your hands afterwards. Every edited photo is included in every collection; the collections themselves — photo only, or photo and video — live on our Cancún wedding page.
Photo Only, or Photo + Video — Every Edited Photo Included
What changes between our wedding collections is coverage, not quality: how many hours of the day we are with you, whether one or two photographers cover the ceremony and the reception, and whether a dedicated videographer films alongside the photos. What never changes is that every edited photo from your Hyatt Zilara wedding is included — no per-photo caps, no choosing forty out of four hundred.
The collections, what each one includes and their prices live on our Cancún wedding page, where you can also check your date.
Hyatt Zilara Cancún Wedding Photography — FAQ
Can we hire you as our wedding photographer at Hyatt Zilara Cancún?
Absolutely. We are an independent studio based in Cancún, photographing weddings across the hotel zone and the Riviera Maya most weeks, and we would join you at Zilara as your chosen outside wedding photographer. We settle the resort's outside-vendor terms with you before the big day — usually a fee or a day pass — so it's one detail you never have to chase yourself. Every edited image is yours, in every collection.
What happens after we book — when do we meet our wedding photographer?
Before the wedding, not on the morning of. One of our lead photographers sits down with you — in person if you are already in Cancún, on a video call if you are planning from abroad — to hear how you picture the day, walk through the timeline, the ceremony light and the vendor question, and agree exactly what we will deliver. By the time you arrive at Zilara, the plan is already yours.
Is the beach at Hyatt Zilara really adults-only and calm for a wedding?
The resort admits guests eighteen and over, which keeps the Zilara side hushed, and its beach ranks among the widest in the hotel zone. Like all Mexican shoreline it is federal, public sand, so we shoot on the open beach out front — yet between the grown-up guest list and all that width, your first look and wedding portraits stay clear of other people's holidays, sunrise especially.
Sunrise or sunset for wedding photos at Zilara?
Both flatter, and it hinges on your day. Facing east, the beach catches gentle, direct light at sunrise onto near-empty sand — perfect for a private couple's set. Sunset brings the familiar warm hour for the ceremony, which we tend to start about two hours beforehand. Because sundown drifts close to ninety minutes over the year, we match your start to the actual date.
Do you also film? Can we book photo and video for a Hyatt Zilara wedding?
Yes. Our photo + video collections add a dedicated videographer who works alongside the photographers through the ceremony, the speeches and the first dance, so the two teams never get in each other's way. Photo-only collections and photo + video collections are both on our Cancún wedding page.
How do guests get from the airport, and do they ever need to leave the resort?
Zilara sits around Km 11.5, mid hotel zone, roughly 25 minutes from Cancún International Airport, so transfers are quick. As an all-inclusive with ceremony, reception, and beach on one property, it gives guests no reason to leave — the only outing worth making is an optional portrait stop at Playa Delfines and the CANCÚN letters, ten to twelve minutes up the boulevard.
Do you charge extra to travel to the Cancún hotel zone for a wedding?
Never. Cancún is home base and we cover the entire hotel zone and Riviera Maya, so a Zilara wedding on Boulevard Kukulcán carries no travel surcharge from us. The one add-on to budget is whatever the resort itself asks of outside vendors — a fee or a day pass you settle with their coordinator.
