Every wedding here starts from the same permission slip — nobody had to be left behind — and then goes wherever the couple takes it. These are the three we are asked for most at Finest, each with a guide of its own:

The Full Wedding, Down to the Youngest Guest

Getting ready with the bridesmaids and whoever is small enough to be underfoot, the ceremony, the cocktail hour, dinner and a dance floor that ends up belonging to the under-tens. One photographer or two, depending on how many rooms the day passes through. An Intimate Wedding, or Vows With No Audience

Twenty people around one long table, or nobody at all: an elopement at first light, vows read to the sea, breakfast afterwards as the reception. Second Vows, Years and Two Children Later

Nobody in the Wedding Party Has to Book Elsewhere

Finest sits inside the gated Playa Mujeres community on the coast north of Cancún, facing the channel toward Isla Mujeres. The area was built out later than the rest of the coastline and stayed low-rise, which is why the beach reads open and unhurried in a photograph instead of hemmed in.

The detail worth knowing while you draw up the invitations: the adults-only property next door is a separate hotel with no exchange privileges, so a guest who books there cannot walk over for your ceremony. That sounds like a limitation and works out as the opposite — everybody books the same address, the wedding party wakes up in the same building, and there is no convoy to organise between one hotel and another on the morning of. We meet you where you are staying and stay with you all day.

The Hour of the Wedding When the Youngest Guests Clock Out

This is the practical thing an adults-only resort cannot offer you, and it shapes the running order more than any venue does. Finest runs a Mini Club for the smallest children and a Maxi Club for the older ones through the afternoon, and the Imagine Lounge takes children during dinner service. On a wedding day that hands you a clean window: while the little ones are looked after, the reception belongs to the adults, and that is when we shoot the parent dances, the speeches nobody wants interrupted, and the couple's portraits away from the tables.

Then the doors open and they come back for the dancing, which is where a family wedding gallery usually finds its best frames. Reading the Ceremony Light Around a Bedtime

Golden hour — the warm, forgiving light in the hour either side of sundown — is where wedding pictures want to live, and on this coast it is the end of the afternoon that delivers it. We usually set the ceremony to begin about two hours ahead of sunset, which leaves runway for vows, group portraits and an unhurried set with the two of you while the colour holds.

With children on the guest list that same decision does something else: it decides whether the youngest are still upright for the first dance or already asleep in somebody's arms. Both make photographs, but you should choose which one on purpose. The Vendor Fee to Settle Before the Invitations Go Out

Ask the wedding coordinator early, in writing, what the resort asks of a photographer you bring yourself. Properties at this level generally do one of two things — charge a photographer fee, or admit your team on a paid day pass — and both are ordinary line items you simply want agreed on paper months ahead rather than discovered the week of. A Civil Ceremony Here, or the Signatures Done at Home

One early decision governs the clock on your wedding day. A legal civil marriage in Mexico brings paperwork, witnesses and a stricter schedule; plenty of couples handle the legal side back home and hold a symbolic ceremony here that looks identical through the lens and gives the afternoon room to breathe. Settle it before we draft your timeline, because it decides when the ceremony can start.
