Picture the morning of it. The ceremony is set a couple of minutes from the lobby on the public sand at Playa Caracol, one of the calmer beaches in the northern hotel zone. There is no shuttle to a far-flung venue and no timing the toddlers around a drive — the flower girl walks the same short path as the bride. Getting Your Wedding Guests There, and the Light That Follows

Dreams Sands stands at Blvd. Kukulcán km 8.5 in the northern hotel zone near Punta Cancún, about 25 to 30 minutes by car from Cancún International Airport (CUN). That short transfer matters more than it sounds when half your guest list is travelling with car seats and carry-on naps — most families arrive, unpack, and are ready to celebrate by the following day. For a change of backdrop we can walk a few minutes south to Playa Fórum and Playa Gaviota Azul around km 9, or drive fifteen to twenty minutes to the wide, famous Playa Delfines at km 18, where the giant CANCUN letters and the El Mirador overlook make a free, iconic spot for a handful of portraits away from the resort.

The Two Best Hours for Your Wedding Light

This is worth understanding, because the sand at km 8.5 faces roughly east across the Caribbean and that shapes the whole day. At sunrise the water is at its most vivid turquoise and the beach is nearly empty — a private, glowing window for a first look or an intimate morning ceremony before the day-trippers arrive. In the late afternoon the sun sets behind the hotel strip rather than over the water, so instead of harsh glare you get a soft, even light washing across the sand, kind to a big group and to every skin tone in it. Choosing to Bring In Your Own Wedding Photographer
