Here is the thing nobody sells you about a famous beach: the fame comes with company. The resort keeps four outdoor settings for ceremonies, with indoor rooms held in reserve if the weather turns, and they do not photograph alike. The beach is the one people picture: open sand, open horizon, nothing behind you but water. The pool gazebo is a thatched structure set back among gardens, with drapes that can close it in — shade, symmetry, and an ocean view past the columns. The Oceana Terrace sits between the buildings and can hold the ceremony, the cocktail hour and the dinner in one place, which is the quietest logistics of the four. Punta Maroma is its own small point of coast between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, off the highway and down a private road, which is why the beach stayed as clean as it did.
