Before any package or price, we want to understand what you are looking for in a wedding photographer. That is what the first call is for: a short video call with one of our lead photographers, from wherever you are planning — or a coffee in Cancún, if you are already here.

What you receive after the call

A proposal built around your day — how many hours, one or two photographers, video if you want it — and a timeline we plan with you. As a reference, our photography collections start at $1,550 USD for four hours and photo + video at $2,340 USD (see the collections). A 20% deposit reserves your date, and your proposal spells out exactly what is included.

The Full Wedding: Ateliers in the Morning, Dance Floor at Midnight

Getting ready, the first look, the ceremony, dinner and the floor, with one or two photographers depending on the size of the party. What is particular here is where the in-between hours go. Rather than waiting out the middle of the day in a suite, couples send us into the workshops and the corridors, so the gallery picks up a run of frames that is pure texture — clay, thread, pigment, stone — before anyone reaches the water. An Elopement, or Twenty Seated at One Long Table

A good number of couples come back on an anniversary and say it again, and plenty more hold a purely symbolic ceremony because the legal side was dealt with at home. A Wedding Week Where the Guests Are Busy Making Things

Hotel Xcaret Arte stands at Km 282 of the Chetumal–Puerto Juárez highway, on the coast south of Playa del Carmen, and the address is the least interesting fact about it. The property is laid out as a set of houses given over to disciplines — craft, cooking, art — with working ateliers inside them and artists running the sessions. That shapes the wedding week more than the wedding day: the people who flew in for you have somewhere to be every afternoon, which means the days before the ceremony belong to them rather than to your timeline, and they arrive on the day already talking to each other.

For the wedding itself it means one gate and nothing to convoy between. Getting ready, the ceremony, dinner and the dancing all happen here, and so do the portraits, because the corridors and the workshops hold a camera as well as the sand in front of them does. We come to you, work the rooms and the beach in the same afternoon, and only look past the gate when a couple asks for a horizon with nothing built on it.

Colour Is the Wedding-Light Question Here, Not Only Timing

Every beach wedding on this coast is an argument about hours. This one is also an argument about pigment. Hand-painted plaster, glazed tile, woven textile and warm stone all throw their own colour back onto whatever stands in front of them, and a white dress is the most honest surface in the building — it takes the cast of the room and shows it plainly. Photographed without thinking, that reads as a fault. Chosen on purpose and metered for, it is the single reason these pictures could not have come from a white-marble ballroom. Which rooms we use, and in what order, is decided in the conversation rather than while you are standing in them.

The clock still counts. This shoreline is turned toward the sunrise, so the sun drops behind the resort instead of into the sea, and the last hour arrives low and sideways across the sand. We tend to set the ceremony about two hours ahead of sundown, which buys room for the vows, the group portraits and a set nobody has to hurry. Signing at Home, Saying the Vows Here

A civil marriage in Mexico brings documents, witnesses and a tighter clock. A good many couples handle the legal part where they live and hold a symbolic ceremony at the resort instead. It photographs the same either way; what changes is who has to be free at four in the afternoon, and therefore how much of the good light is still ahead of you when the vows finish. Settle it before we draft the timeline.

We handle the resort’s events team from wherever you are planning; most of our couples organise the whole thing from home and meet us for the first time in the lobby.
