Your Couples Photographer at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya

Anniversaries, honeymoons and vow renewals on the public sand of Playa del Carmen — a short taxi down the coast, shot in the quiet hour before the beach fills up.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya

The Photograph You Will Still Want in Ten Years

You chose an adults-only resort up the coast at Playa Paraíso because this trip was only ever about the two of you — no kids, no crowd, no compromise on where you stayed. Then the week runs the way these weeks run. The messages we get from couples staying at Hyatt Zilara open the same way almost every time: one wife wrote to us last spring — a tenth anniversary, a dinner already booked, a dress she had packed for months — and finished with, "we have three hundred photos of the pool and not one good one of us." You flew all this way for the picture you will still want on the wall in ten years, and that is exactly the one nobody at the next table can take for you.

We've photographed thousands of sessions across Playa del Carmen, and the ones we shoot for couples staying at this resort almost all come down to the same decision: a quiet public beach at first light, a short taxi from your room. You are up the coast, away from the crowds — which is precisely why the picture holds up as a portrait instead of a snapshot. Six years and more than a thousand clients later, an unhurried hour on empty sand is still the easiest thing we can hand two people who came this far to be in the same frame.

The Celebrations Hyatt Zilara Couples Book Us For

You chose a resort with no kids in the pool, and that tells us most of what we need before you even write: this is two people, and the reason is usually a milestone worth flying for. These are the three sessions we photograph most for couples staying here.

Anniversaries

The trip is the gift; the photograph is the part that outlives it. Five years, ten, twenty-five — the number changes and the request never does: one unhurried hour, the two of you, dressed the way you dressed for the dinner you already booked. We shoot it early, so you are back with the whole day still ahead of you. Our anniversary session guide shows how we pace an hour like that.

Honeymoons

The first week that belongs to nobody but the two of you, and the one trip you will describe for the rest of your lives — so it is worth more than a phone held out at arm’s length. This is the most relaxed of the three: a slow hour on the sand, gentle direction, and the two of you doing very little beyond being together. Our couples photoshoot guide covers what to wear and when to shoot.

Vow renewals

Some couples come back to say it again — an anniversary that earned a small ceremony, a promise worth repeating out loud on an empty beach with nobody watching but us. We keep it private and unhurried: a mark on the sand at first light, your own words, and an hour that is only yours. Our couples ceremony guide walks through how we shoot a moment like that.

Where We Meet Couples Staying at Hyatt Zilara

Hyatt Zilara sits up at Playa Paraíso, about six miles north of downtown Playa del Carmen — a fifteen-minute taxi we would rather you take once, in the calm of the morning, than skip. We meet you on the public sand in the heart of downtown, or at Punta Esmeralda on its quieter northern edge — both free and open to anyone, so there is nothing to book and nothing that can cancel your morning. We send the exact pin over WhatsApp the day before, and for two of you a car is easy to arrange.

That short drive earns its place for one reason: down in the centre the beach is wide, walkable and genuinely photogenic, and Punta Esmeralda stays quieter still — so the two of you get open sand and real coastline behind you instead of a row of loungers. Come at first light and the beach is nearly empty, which is the whole point: the frame has the two of you in it and nobody else’s morning.

Want one frame that belongs on a wall rather than in an album? Ask about our signature beach-gown editorial sessions in Playa del Carmen — metres of fabric in the morning breeze, made for exactly this kind of trip.

No Session Fee — You Pay Only for the Photos You Love

Pricing is refreshingly simple: there is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a package from $200 USD when you want a longer, more elaborate shoot — so you only ever pay for the images you love. You can see everything we offer, and hundreds of recent sessions, on our Playa del Carmen photographer page.

Every hotel has its own rules about photography on the property. We know how each one works — message us and we’ll tell you exactly what your options are where you’re staying.

Almost nobody who books us has been photographed properly before, and there is nothing to apologise for — we direct the whole thing, and you can see how that turns out on our Playa del Carmen photographer page. Send us your dates and we will tell you which morning to keep free.

Ready to Get the Two of You in the Same Frame?

Tell us your dates and what you are celebrating, and we will hold a morning for you. The first-light slots are the ones that go first.

Why the First Hour

Why This Couple Books a Photo for the Wall

Everything we shoot for couples staying at Hyatt Zilara comes down to one short window on an empty public beach — not for the light, but because that is the hour the picture stays yours.

  1. A picture that holds up on a wall

Away from the crowds, on open public sand at first light, what you take home looks like a portrait — the kind you frame, not the kind that stays buried in a camera roll.

  2. You are back before breakfast

A short taxi down, an unhurried hour on the sand, and the day you actually planned starts on time.

  3. We direct the whole thing

Almost nobody who books us has done this before. We tell you where to stand and what to do with your hands, so the result looks like the two of you.

  4. You keep only what you love

There is no session fee. You see the full gallery afterwards and choose from it, which takes the pressure off the hour.

Couples Sessions at Hyatt Zilara — FAQ

We are not models and we have never done this. Will it look awkward?

No, and it is the thing almost everyone apologises for in the first message. Practically nobody who books us has been photographed properly before. We direct the entire hour: where to stand, where to look, and when to simply talk to each other and ignore us. What comes out looks like the two of you, not like posing.

How much does a couples session at Hyatt Zilara cost?

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a package from $200 USD for a longer, more elaborate shoot. You see the full gallery first and choose from it afterwards, so you only ever pay for the images you love.

We want to renew our vows on the beach. Can you photograph that?

Yes — vow renewals are one of the three things we shoot most for couples staying here. We keep it private: a spot on the sand at first light, your own words, and an unhurried hour that belongs only to the two of you. Tell us in the first message and we will plan the timing around a quiet beach.

Where do we meet you if we are staying at Hyatt Zilara?

On the public sand in the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen, or at Punta Esmeralda on its northern edge — both free and open, about a fifteen-minute taxi south from the resort. We send the exact pin over WhatsApp the day before, and for the two of you a car is easy to arrange.

Does it have to be in the morning?

It does not, but you should know the trade. This coast faces east, so there is no sunset over the water here. Mornings give you soft light and an empty beach; the hour before sunset is still beautiful, it just will not be quiet. Either way, plan on about an hour on the sand.
