Your Photographer at Allegro Playacar

Couples, active families and everyday vacation portraits on the public sand at Playa Fundadores — a short walk or a quick taxi from Playacar.

Allegro Playacar

Come Home With Photos of Everyone, Not Just the Scenery

You booked Allegro Playacar because you do not sit still on vacation — the tennis in the morning, the reef a fin-kick offshore, the long walk to breakfast you take instead of waiting for a shuttle. By day three you know the shaded, golf-cart-quiet streets of Playacar better than some people who live here. Then the week runs the way these weeks run. A couple staying here wrote to us last spring and put it plainly: "we walk this place every single morning, and we have four hundred photos of palm trees and not one of us in them." You did not fly down to come home with a camera roll of scenery.

That is where we come in. We have photographed thousands of sessions across Playa del Carmen, and for the active couples and families who stay inside Playacar the arrangement could not be simpler: you already walk everywhere here, so one more short stretch — on foot if you feel like it, by taxi if you would rather — puts you on open public sand with nobody else’s resort loungers behind you. Six years and more than a thousand clients later, that walk is still the easiest thing we hand a family that likes to move.

What Playacar Guests Ask Us to Photograph

Almost everyone who writes to us from Allegro Playacar is the active kind of traveller — already on the second walk of the day before anybody else has found the coffee, and travelling with people they do not get to move around with often enough. These are the three sessions we photograph most for guests staying here.

Couples

Two people who spend the trip in motion and want an hour that is only about each other. We keep it relaxed and keep you moving — walking the shoreline, not planted in a pose — because that is how you already are together, and it is the version of you that actually looks like you. We shoot it early, before the sand fills, so you are back with the rest of the day in front of you. Our couples photoshoot guide covers outfits and timing.

Active family portraits

The family that does not do sitting-still portraits — the kids who want to run at the water, the parents who would rather be caught mid-laugh than lined up squinting. Open public sand is exactly what that family needs: room for everyone to move, and the real coast behind you instead of a wall of loungers. We build the whole-group frame first, then let the little ones loose. Our family photoshoot guide for Playa del Carmen shows how an hour on the sand really goes.

Everyday vacation memories

No occasion, nothing to announce — just the best week you have had in a while, and the sense that a stretched-out arm is not going to do it justice. This is the most relaxed of the three: a slow hour of the two, three or six of you simply being on the beach, gently directed so nobody has to perform. Our vacation photoshoot guide walks through what a session like this looks like.

Where We Meet Guests From Allegro Playacar

Here is the honest geography, and it works in your favour. Allegro Playacar sits beachfront inside Playacar, roughly two kilometres south of where Quinta Avenida trails off — which means the open, public stretch we love is a short way north, not a trek across town. We shoot at Playa Fundadores, the free public sand beside Parque Fundadores, where the Portal Maya sculpture and the ferry pier to Cozumel mark the top of the beach. For someone who already circuits Playacar every morning it is one more pleasant walk; if you would rather not, a taxi drops you at the park gate. Either way there is nothing to book and nothing that can cancel your morning.

The hour is the only thing we ask you to hold. We start early, while the sand is still quiet and effectively yours, so the frames are calm and you are back at the hotel before the day you actually planned has begun. We meet you at the park and send the exact pin over WhatsApp the night before.

Want one frame that belongs on a wall rather than in an album? Ask about our signature beach-gown editorial sessions in Playa del Carmen — metres of fabric in the morning breeze, made for a trip like this one.

No Session Fee — You Pay Only for the Photos You Love

Pricing is refreshingly simple: there is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a group package from $200 USD when the whole family wants in — so you only ever pay for the images you love. You can see everything we offer, and hundreds of recent sessions, on our Playa del Carmen photographer page.

Every hotel has its own rules about photography on the property. We know how each one works — message us and we’ll tell you exactly what your options are where you’re staying.

Almost nobody who books us has been photographed properly before, and they usually apologise for it in the first message. There is nothing to apologise for — we direct the whole thing, and you can see how that turns out on our Playa del Carmen photographer page. Send us your dates and your headcount, and we will tell you which morning to keep free.

Let’s Get All of You in the Same Photo

Tell us your dates and how many of you are travelling, and we will hold a morning for you. The early slots are the quiet ones, and they go first.

Why the Public Beach

Why Playacar Guests Book the Open Sand

Everything we shoot for guests staying at Allegro Playacar happens on the public sand at Fundadores — not despite the short walk, but because of what open beach gives an active family or couple.

  1. Room for everyone to move

Open public sand means the kids can actually run and a six-person group gets shot properly, instead of squeezed against a row of loungers.

  2. One more walk you already love

You circuit Playacar every morning anyway. The stretch north to Fundadores is a pleasant one — and a taxi to the park gate is there for the mornings you would rather not.

  3. We direct the whole thing

Almost nobody who books us has done this before. We tell everyone where to stand and what to do with their hands, so it looks like you, not a school photo.

  4. You keep only what you love

There is no session fee. You choose from the full gallery afterwards, which takes the pressure off the hour — handy when a toddler is setting the schedule.

Good to Know

Photo Sessions at Allegro Playacar — FAQ

We are not photogenic and the kids never sit still. Will the photos actually work?

Yes, and it is the thing almost everyone apologises for in the first message. Practically nobody who books us has been photographed properly before. We direct the entire hour — where to stand, where to look, and when to just let the kids run — and the frames people end up printing are almost never the ones where everybody stood still. What comes out looks like you, not a pose.

How much does a session for Allegro Playacar guests cost?

There is no session fee. You pay $15 USD per photo with a 10-photo minimum ($150 USD), or choose a group package from $200 USD when the whole family wants in. You see the full gallery first and choose from it afterwards, so you only ever pay for the images you love.

Where do we meet you, and how far is it from Allegro Playacar?

We meet at Playa Fundadores, the free public beach beside Parque Fundadores, a short way north of Playacar — an easy walk for guests who already circuit the community every morning, or a quick taxi to the park gate if you would rather not walk. There is nothing to book and no resort access needed. We send the exact pin over WhatsApp the night before.

Can you photograph a bigger group of family and friends?

Yes — group sessions are one of the three things we shoot most for guests staying here. Tell us the headcount in your first message and we will pick the stretch of Fundadores that fits it. We build the full lineup first, then break it into smaller groupings without moving anyone twice.

Can we do it in the afternoon instead of the morning?

You can, though it is worth knowing the trade. This coast faces east, so there is no sunset over the water here. Mornings give you soft light and an emptier beach; late afternoon is still lovely, just not quiet. Either way, plan on about an hour on the sand.
