The most romantic thing to do on your Cozumel cruise stop
Cruise days fill up fast with the same handful of excursions — snorkel tours, beach clubs, a quick walk through town. A Flying Dress photoshoot is something else entirely. It is intimate, unhurried and unmistakably yours, and it gives a milestone like a honeymoon or an anniversary the celebration it deserves. Instead of returning to the ship with another beach selfie, you sail away with a gallery of images that look like they belong in a magazine — the two of you, the dress, the sea, and the light of a Cozumel morning.
It is also rare. Very few couples do a Flying Dress session each year, which is exactly what makes it feel so special. This is not the typical port-day outing; it is an exclusive, once-in-a-trip experience designed around the two of you.
Yes, both of you can be in the photos
A Flying Dress session is not only for the bride. Couples appear together throughout — embracing as the dress sweeps across the frame, walking hand in hand at the water's edge, sharing a quiet look while the wind does the rest. One of you wears the flowing gown (classic white is the favourite for honeymoons and anniversaries, though we have several other colours if you want something bolder), and the photographer composes the two of you into images that feel cinematic and deeply personal. You do not need any experience or any poses prepared — your photographer guides you through every moment, and a clothing assistant manages the dress so it catches the breeze beautifully.
A session built for couples, in about 60 to 90 minutes
The shoot itself runs about 60 to 90 minutes — enough time to relax, settle into each other, and let the morning unfold without ever feeling rushed. That window slots comfortably inside a typical six-to-eight-hour port call, which is why honeymooners and anniversary couples love it: you get a genuinely romantic experience and still have the rest of your day in Cozumel. You tell us your ship name and your all-aboard time, and we build the schedule backwards from it so your session is calm from the first frame to the last.
Why Playa Caletita is our beach for couples
For these romantic sessions we shoot at Playa Caletita, and it is our recommended beach for a reason. Alongside its soft sand and open sea, Caletita has a stretch of natural rock that adds real composition to the photographs — layers, texture and framing that make couple portraits feel like editorial spreads rather than ordinary beach pictures. Early morning is best: we love an 8:00 a.m. start, when the light is soft and golden and the public beach is still calm and nearly empty, so the two of you have the scenery almost to yourselves. There are other lovely beaches on the island, but Caletita is the one we reach for when we want the most cinematic results.
One honest note about a public beach: there are no restrooms, chairs or places to sit, so come ready to enjoy the session and head onward afterward. It is part of what keeps the setting wild and beautiful.
How a romantic cruise-day session works
Booking is simple, and it all happens over WhatsApp or email. You reach out, we review your cruise's arrival date, arrival time, the number of people and the dress colour you would like, and then we organise the reservation. A small $30 deposit secures your slot, and the balance is paid in full, in cash, on the day of the session. Sessions in Cozumel start from $169 USD, and the gown is included in sizes XS to XXXL, so there is nothing to carry off the ship.
On the morning of your session we send you clear directions to the meeting point at Playa Caletita and coordinate the timing around your ship. A short, important note on how we work: we do not provide transportation — we do not pick you up, drive you or take you back. You make your own way to the beach (an easy walk or a short taxi ride from the southern piers) and onward afterward, while we handle the timing so everything lines up perfectly with your cruise. When the session wraps, you simply continue your day, and your professionally edited photos arrive within 72 hours through a private online gallery.
Will you make it back to the ship in time?
This is every cruise couple's first question, and the answer is yes. We schedule romantic sessions early in your port window, keep the beach close to the southern terminals, and track your all-aboard time throughout — most couples are back aboard with hours to spare. The cruise line decides which pier you dock at (Punta Langosta downtown, or Puerta Maya and the SSA International Pier to the south), and it can change day to day, but you do not need to know yours in advance. Just share your ship name and we set the meeting point. If you would like the full breakdown of the piers and timing, read our companion guide on planning a Flying Dress photoshoot on your Cozumel cruise day.
A keepsake that outlasts the trip
Years from now, the snorkel tour will blur into every other vacation — but a portrait of the two of you on a Cozumel morning, the dress caught mid-flight against the sea, will still stop you in your tracks. That is the heart of a Flying Dress honeymoon or anniversary session: a single, unforgettable hour that turns a cruise stop into a memory you keep forever. Tell us your sailing date and ship, and we will have everything ready the moment you step ashore.
