Bachelorette & Group Flying Dress Photoshoots in Tulum

Some of our favourite mornings in Tulum begin with a group of friends arriving at the beach together — a bride-to-be and her crew, a circle of friends marking a milestone birthday, or a family wanting one picture they will all treasure. A Flying Dress photoshoot turns that gathering into something unforgettable: turquoise water, talcum-white sand, and the wild beach greenery that made Tulum famous, all wrapped around the people you love most. As the original creators of the Flying Dress experience in the Riviera Maya, we know exactly how to plan a group session so everyone leaves with gorgeous photos and nobody feels rushed. Here is how it works.

Why Tulum is made for a group celebration

Tulum has a bohemian magic that no other stretch of the Riviera Maya quite matches. The water glows turquoise, the sand is soft and pale, and the wild, untamed beach greenery gives every frame that effortless boho-chic look. It is the most photogenic beach in the region — which is exactly why it has become a favourite for bachelorette parties, milestone birthdays, girls' trips and family getaways. When you bring a group here, the backdrop does half the work, and the relaxed Tulum atmosphere keeps everyone laughing between shots.

Perfect for bachelorettes, birthdays and girls' trips

A Flying Dress session is one of those rare ideas that suits almost any celebration. Brides-to-be love it as the centrepiece of a bachelorette weekend — flowing dresses, the bride in the spotlight, and her whole crew in the frame. Friends marking a big birthday use it to capture a moment they will look back on for years. Families on holiday turn it into the photo that ends up framed on the wall. We welcome groups travelling in from all over — many of our parties fly in from the United States, Canada and Europe to celebrate in Tulum. Whatever the occasion, the formula is the same: stunning dresses catching the Tulum breeze, and a photographer guiding everyone through poses so no experience is needed.

Group discounts with a custom quote

Because every group is different, we put together a personalized quote rather than a fixed price list. Group bookings come with a discount, and the more of you there are, the more there is to tailor — which dresses, how many people are being photographed, and how you would like the session to flow. Just tell us roughly how many are coming and what you are celebrating, and we will send a quote built around your group. Sessions still start from $169 USD per person as a reference point, with a single $30 deposit to reserve and the balance paid on the day of your shoot.

For larger groups, we split you into staggered time slots

When you have a bigger party, the secret to a great group shoot is smart scheduling. Rather than trying to photograph everyone at once, we split the group into smaller waves with staggered start times — typically 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. Each wave gets its own dedicated time on the sand, and because we bring several photographers — roughly one per person being photographed — everyone is shooting at the same time within their slot rather than waiting around. It is fast, dynamic and high-energy: a wave shoots for about an hour, and just as they are finishing the next wave arrives to take over. The result is a session where nobody stands around bored and nobody feels like an afterthought — everyone gets proper time in front of the camera and everyone shines.

How a group session works, step by step

We send you clear directions and meet your group at Playa La Roca — our favourite Tulum spot, named for its dramatic rock formation and away from the busiest tourist areas — at your assigned time slot. La Roca is also where the most spectacular shots happen: the photographers can work from a low angle, camera near the sand looking up, so each dress soars against the sky for that larger-than-life look. With several photographers on hand — about one per person — your group shoots together rather than queuing, and a clothing assistant keeps each dress catching the wind beautifully, so you do not need any experience at all. We capture the playful in-between moments and the full-group shots, then the next wave steps in around the hour mark. Friends and family who simply want to watch and cheer are welcome at no extra cost.

Your professionally edited photos arrive within 72 hours through a private online gallery, ready to share the moment you are all back home — or before your trip is even over.

What is included for every guest

The Flying Dress is provided and included in the package, in sizes XS to XXXL, so nobody needs to bring or buy a thing. Every session includes the dress, your professional photographer and a clothing assistant who keeps the fabric flowing perfectly. Because the dress is provided, planning a group is simple — you just choose who is being photographed and we handle the wardrobe.

Beyond the beach: a Tulum twist

Tulum's beaches are the classic setting — Playa La Roca is our recommended spot, and the public stretches are easy to reach by bus, taxi or Uber, with private resort-beach sessions available on request. But Tulum also offers something you will not find elsewhere on the coast: for a group wanting a truly distinctive set of images, we can arrange a dramatic cenote backdrop nearby — the jungle-framed natural pools the area is known for. It is a beautiful way to give your celebration a one-of-a-kind look that feels unmistakably Tulum.

Tips for planning your group shoot

Book ahead. Tulum is busy in the dry season from November to April, and group slots fill quickly — reserving early guarantees your date and gives us time to build your custom quote.

Aim for the morning. We recommend starting around 8 a.m. at Playa La Roca — the light is soft, the sea is calm and the beach is still quiet, the ideal window for a relaxed group session, and the natural anchor for our staggered 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. waves. The golden hour before sunset is a lovely second option.

Go barefoot and plan your swimwear. Sessions are shot barefoot on the sand, and we recommend a strapless or backless swimsuit underneath so nothing shows through the airy dress.

Arrive ready. Come with hair and makeup done if you would like a polished look — especially the guest of honour — and we will take care of everything else.

Let's plan your celebration in Tulum

Whether it is a bachelorette weekend, a birthday to remember, a girls' trip or a family holiday, a Flying Dress photoshoot is the kind of memory Tulum was made for. Tell us how many are coming and what you are celebrating, and we will put together a group quote and a plan that lets everyone shine.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a Flying Dress photoshoot good for a bachelorette party in Tulum?

It is one of the most popular bachelorette experiences we offer. The bride-to-be takes the spotlight in a flowing dress while her crew joins in the frame, all set against Tulum's turquoise water and boho beaches. We guide everyone through the poses so no experience is needed, and friends who just want to watch and cheer are welcome at no extra cost.

Do you offer group discounts, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Because every group is different, we put together a personalized quote with a group discount rather than a fixed price. Sessions start from $169 USD per person as a reference, with a single $30 deposit to reserve and the balance paid on the day of the shoot. Just tell us roughly how many are coming and what you are celebrating, and we'll send a quote built around your group.

How does a large-group session work so everyone gets good photos?

For bigger groups we split you into smaller waves with staggered start times — typically 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. — and bring several photographers, roughly one per person being photographed, so everyone shoots at the same time within their slot instead of waiting around. It is fast and dynamic: each wave shoots for about an hour, and just as one is finishing the next arrives to take over. Everyone gets proper time in front of the camera and their own set of beautiful images, plus plenty of room for the full-group shots, so nobody is left standing around and everyone shines.

Do we need to bring our own dresses, and what sizes are available?

There is nothing to bring or buy. The Flying Dress is provided and included for each guest being photographed, in sizes XS to XXXL, and every session also includes your professional photographer and a clothing assistant who keeps the fabric flowing in the breeze. You simply choose who is being photographed and we handle the wardrobe.

Where in Tulum do you shoot, and can we do a cenote backdrop?

Our recommended spot is Playa La Roca, named for its dramatic rock formation — it lets the photographers shoot from a low angle so each dress soars against the sky for the most spectacular images. It and the other public beaches are away from the busiest spots and reachable by bus, taxi or Uber, with private resort-beach sessions available on request. For a group wanting something truly distinctive, we can also arrange a dramatic cenote backdrop nearby — the jungle-framed natural pools the area is famous for — to give your celebration a one-of-a-kind look.

When is the best time for a group Flying Dress session in Tulum?

We recommend starting around 8 a.m. — soft light, calm sea and a still-quiet beach make it the ideal window for a relaxed group shoot, and it is the natural starting point for our staggered waves at 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. The golden hour before sunset is a lovely second option. The dry season from November to April brings the most reliable conditions, and because Tulum is busy in those months we recommend booking your group date early.
